He has presented the BBC Two quiz shows Two Tribes and Richard Osman’s House of Games and been a team captain on the comedy panel shows Insert Name Here and The Fake News Show. He has made appearances on many British panel shows.

Richard Thomas Osman was born in Billericay, Essex, to Brenda Wright and David Osman, and was raised in Cookfield, near Haywards Heath, West Sussex. When Richard Osman was nine years old, his father left his family, Osman said, which caused difficulties for the rest of his life. His mother attended teacher training school, but had a hard time earning enough money to raise two children before finding a full-time job. His older brother is a musician and bass guitarist for the rock band Suede, Mat Osman.

Osman attended Warden Park School in Cuckfield. While still in school, he got his first broadcasting experience as a regular on BBC Radio Sussex’s Sunday night free music show ‘Turn It Up’.
