Now that awards season is in full swing, stars are getting glam, walking red carpets, and rubbing elbows with other A-listers more than ever. The Golden Globes gave us many celebrity friendship and fangirl moments (like Drake and the Stranger Things cast, and everyone and Oprah), and so did last night's Critics' Choice Awards. The best exchange, however, was arguably between Reese Witherspoon and Emilia Clarke, who posed for photos together on the blue carpet.

Their twinning black polka dot dresses made the photo op even sweeter. Clarke wore a long-sleeve black midi number from Dolce & Gabbana (she's the face of the brand's new fragrance) and minimal silver heels. Witherspoon went for a shorter and more playful style, in a sleeveless A-line dress by Prada and feathered sandals. Perhaps the actress' shared stylist, Petra Flannery, could be the reason behind the matching looks.

While many actresses went for white, bold colors, and pastel color palettes at the Critics' Choice Awards, Reese and Emilia stuck to black, like they did for the Golden Globes to support the Time's Up movement.

The best moment from their run-in? Emilia Clarke's face. Her reaction to first seeing Reese is the embodiment of pure joy.

What makes Witherspoon and Clarke's encounter even better is that they weren't the only ones on the carpet. They were also flanked by Laua Dern and Margot Robbie, making an amazing quasi-group photo.
